Over four million years old! This splendid fossil is one-half of a medium-sized Mercinaria clamshell, hollowed in the center and split down the middle with the non-hinged sides intact. Beautifully clear yellow calcite crystals totally blanket the inside of the clam, with other fossilized material present as well. This wonderful specimen is almost completely imbedded in a dark gray, sparkling matrix that provides an excellent base for display purposes. Mined in the waters off the coast of Okeechobee County, Florida. Great for den or office!
