Selenite Phantom Crystal

Fascinating Selenite!  A form of gypsum, this large tabular crystal is called Selenite because of its high degree of transparency and tabular formation (does this look like a large fish to you, too?).  Areas of water-clear clarity are abundantly sprinkled among the great cleavage striations and fabulous metallic black phantoms (probably carbon) streaking horizontally across the interior.  Some of the most popular selenite crystals for metaphysical use are from Mexico, and this one hails from the Naica region of  Chihuahua, Mexico.
