Seraphinite - The Stone of Angels! Also called Serafina, this nice-sized, coveted gemrock orb is named after Seraphim, the highest order of Angels, because of the feather-like markings on the stone. Add the chatoyant fibers (mica) to these markings, and voila'! The resemblance to silver feathery wings is obvious! A beautiful forest green (with touch of gray) provides a stunning backdrop to these most unique features, and a nice polish shows off a striking pearly-to-vitreous luster. Note the presence of a red mineral, too - a joyful contrast and unique identifier.
Siberia is the primary supplier of Seraphinite at this time, and specimens are limited. Therefore, the rarity and expense has pushed this stone (especially the larger-than-cabachon sizes) to primarily collector status. In spite of that, this beautiful stone has gained a wide reputation is some circles as a light energy stone that will draw in higher vibrations. If you so choose, psychic gifts will likely open to strengthen connections to guardian angels, spirit guides and ??? I don't know about you, but Seraphinite is now on my bucket list! Siberia, Russia.
